I picked up small stones along the roadside in the Kirishima area and stuffed them into the soles of a pair of second-hand leather shoes I bought here. Through this way, and with the imagery and memories of this place - in the forest, on the edge of the volcano, on the winding mountain road, next to the supermarket - I wanted to extend the road to the soles of my feet, and take a small part of the scenery with me. |
